HEEL SHOE LOUNGE
Miami Therapy
For The Sole
By Leah Jayasanker

After a full day of shopping for clothing and jewels a lady needs a little time to lounge around. How about stepping into Miami’s latest hotspot, Heel Shoe Lounge, a trendy, chic retreat which promises to cater to the needs of your sole. Tucked within the funky established Rebel clothing boutique, Heel furnishes clients with a vast selection of brands—Betsy Johnson, Jill Stuart and Isabella Fiore to name a few, including locals, Sergio Zelcer and Tracy Stern. Owner and fellow heel lover, Dey Lopez, tells us what makes her shoe lounge attractive.

“As a buyer with Rebel I saw a need for our clients to complete their look using high-end shoes,” explains Lopez on the decision to expand into footwear. “The neighborhood of our location is a destination spot, where our customers come here for the store.” With Rebel’s established clientele, it made sense for Lopez to gravitate within the same four corners. Competition wise Lopez says, “There aren’t many similar spots nearby that carry head to toe looks or shoes, so the location was ideal.”

The price points at Heel range from $100 to $700 and Lopez does her duty to entice customers to their unique array of brand names that are hard to come by. “Corso Como is a line that does well and Sergio Zelcer who does a lot of wedges and platforms with price points of $100 to $150, fly out of my store,” she adds.

Lopez’s modo on shoe shopping derives from her love for heels. “As a petite woman I’m always in heels and I love shoes, for me it is second nature to light up with a great pair. My goal for women in our store is to give them that amazing glow when they walk out in an amazing style.” She furthers, “I’m giving them therapy for their soul—to feel good when they wear our shoes.”
