COLORS DO BRASIL
Amanda De Montal
Reinvents the Bikini

French by birth, but Brazilian by heart, designer Amanda de Montal reinvents the bikini with a masterful touch of vibrant color, stunning accents, and luxurious fabrics in her new swimwear line. Amanda transforms the bikini into a lifestyle piece, pairing each look with wraps, jewelry and accessories for a chic and versatile outfit for the beach or around town. Amanda’s Latin-inspired creations celebrate curves and femininity, and focus on smoothing fabrics and flattering lines to make a woman feel confident and radiant.

Amanda, whose personality and energy is reflective throughout her designs, is passionate about making a woman feel irresistible and radiant. “I seek out the most luxurious fabrics for comfort and then engineer cuts to reveal a woman’s beautiful curves,” she explains.

An eternal globetrotter, Amanda has found an immense amount of inspiration from her travels abroad and most notably, from the Brazilian culture, lifestyle and landscapes. Upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro for the first time, Amanda – who was sporting her French swimsuit, saw how Brazilians went to the beach dressed as if they were going to nightclubs. Their beachwear was reflective of their cultured way of life. This revelation was the beginning of what would become the concept of her swimwear line – the sexiness and irresistibility of the Brazilian suit that is designed with the European figure in mind.

Using authentic accents found in native Brazil – crystals from Minas Gerais, shells from Fortaleza and hand-embroidery by a Carioca community give each suit the native Brazilian touch. Amanda’s bikinis are enhanced with glamorous teardrop crystals, or stylish, refined shells, while others feature a subtle touch of sequin beading or an eye-catching embroidered flower.

Amanda’s fashionable eye delicately combines simplicity with playful and ornate designs. Colorful necklaces balance solid bikinis adorned with beaded or jeweled accents. Rainbow-colored bangles complement girlishly sweet ribbon side-ties. Bikini bottoms are attached by circular, crocheted links, strands of shells or sequin bands. From cotton and Mousseline wraps to whimsical, charmed necklaces and long crystal pendants, Colors do Brasil accessories are a spirited, individualistic addition to the line.

Colors do Brasil first began as a charming boutique in the outskirts of Paris before evolving and launching into an international swimwear and accessory line in 2006.
