Melbourne, Australia: Melbourne Underground Film Festival
July 11 - 21 What’s more hip than going to an international film festival? Attending its offspring! The rebels of the film industry decided to start MUFF as a result of the rejection that some controversial projects have received at MIFF. The Melbourne Underground film festival is more than just a spin off, it is an opportunity to embrace creativity and exploit censored emotions. This is the third year of an edgy selection, an outspoken crowd, and a hell of a good time.

Baalbeck, Lebanon: The Baalbeck International Festival
July 22 - August 25 I remember the first time I went to the Baalbeck festival, I was 15 years old and I was so excited to attend the French performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame “Notre Dame De Paris”. There was nothing like it; an immense outdoor stage situated between the Roman temples of Bacchus and Jupiter. The hot “Saj” sandwiches were the best I have ever tasted, searing the chilly breeze of a cool summer night. It is to this day considered a popular venue for visitors and a cherished Middle Eastern heritage. The Festival of Baalbeck has always maintained its status in attracting amazing performances from all forms of art. The Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem Mass and Caracalla Dance Theater have made this year’s program. Check the website for more
